One of the great things about the guitar is that there are so many amazing sounds you can create. Many of the guitar lessons we teach are about how to play in standard tuning. However, there are some real cool sounds you can create by tuning your guitar to alternate tunings.
Check out this great guitar lesson on how to tune your guitar and play in Open D Tuning.
You will want to tune your strings like this:
D (low pitch E string)
A
D
F#
A
D (high pitch E string)
Ever wondered how guitar players made those higher pitched harmonic sounds. Here is a quick video and demonstration on how to use harmonics.
We will be adding more alternate tuning lessons very soon, in the meanwhile check out some of the other lessons by using the links on the right.
